About the institution

Chengdu Anyu Dental Implant Hospital states on its official site that it began with the Ministry of Health Oral Implant Science and Technology Center (founded 1991), described there as an origin point of modern Chinese implant dentistry. In 1993 the center established a dental implant hospital — China's first specialty hospital focused on dental implants — later known as West China University of Medical Sciences Dental Implant Hospital / Sichuan University Chengdu West China Dental Implant Hospital. In 2021 it was renamed Chengdu Anyu Dental Implant Hospital in memory of founding professor Chen Anyu.
